Celebrate Arbor Day

Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care.
National Arbor Day was founded by J. Sterling Morton in 1872, and is celebrated on the last friday in April.
In recognition of Arbor Day, Codington Conservation District is giving away trees to area students!
Trees will be given to students in elementary schools in Codington County.
Sponsors of the the annual Arbor Day Essay contest are McDonald’s Restaurants of South Dakota, South Dakota Dept of Agriculture, Resource Conservation & Forestry Division and the South Dakota Association of Conservation Districts. Go to SD Department of Agriculture for more information.
